What are the construction environment and weather requirements for UV metal coatings
The construction environment and weather requirements for UV metal coatings are as follows:
1. Construction environment requirements
Temperature: The construction environment temperature should be controlled between 15 ℃ and 35 ℃. Excessive or insufficient temperature can affect the curing effect and coating quality of the coating. In high temperature environments, the evaporation rate of solvents in coatings accelerates, which may cause the coating to dry too quickly, resulting in defects such as incomplete conjunctiva and rough paint surface; However, excessively low temperatures may delay solvent evaporation, affect the leveling of the coating and the arrangement of metal particles, thereby reducing the scintillation effect of the coating.
Humidity: The relative humidity should be maintained between 40% and 70%. In high temperature and high humidity environments, especially when the temperature exceeds 40 ℃ or the relative humidity is above 80%, it is recommended to suspend construction and take measures to reduce temperature or humidity, such as using air conditioning, dehumidification equipment, etc. Excessive humidity may cause defects in the coating due to residual moisture, such as whitening, blistering, etc.
Ventilation: The construction environment should be well ventilated to reduce the retention of moisture in the air, but the wind speed should not be too fast to avoid damaging the quality of the coating, especially during thick coating, which can easily cause paint film defects.
Lighting: UV metal coatings are sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, so direct sunlight should be avoided during the construction process. The storage, transfer, and blending of coatings should be carried out in opaque containers. When using in open barrels, direct sunlight should be avoided, and open storage near visible sunlight windows is strictly prohibited. Otherwise, it will cause gelation and deterioration, resulting in the failure of the coating.
Cleanliness: The construction environment should be kept clean, and any dust and debris generated during construction should be immediately removed to avoid contaminating the appearance of the topcoat paint film.
2. Weather requirements
Avoid construction on rainy days: Construction should be suspended on rainy days or when the air humidity is too high to prevent defects in the coating due to residual moisture.
Avoid high temperature periods: During the summer high temperature period, construction should avoid noon and choose cooler times in the morning and evening to reduce the risk of coating drying too quickly.
Pay attention to weather forecast: Before construction, pay attention to the weather forecast to ensure that there is no rain within 24 hours after construction to avoid damage to the coating caused by rainwater erosion.
